A dialogue between what gradually appears in the video and the sounds that emerge from the opening textures dictates the structure and development of Bodyscape. With each entrance from the video, the audience quietly mumbles their description of what they see, and thus participate both as an observer and active contributor for the work. As the image becomes clearer, the true being of the music emerges. The shape, the body, the subject in the video, Fonema performers, and audience members are all brought to the forefront of awareness, creating a primal and otherworldly atmosphere of performance.
